Suo capostipite certo fu un Costanzo de' D. condottiero d'armati, il quale fece acquisto di varie terre nella valle di Trebbia, e precisamente nel comune di Travi (prov. di Piacenza) dove i suoi discendenti continuarono a far nuovi e rilevanti acquisti per modo che resasi la famiglia padrona di un intero villaggio, diede a questo il proprio nome e fu detto D. di Viserano. fino dalla prima metà del secolo XV ebbero i D. nobiltà in Piacenza, confermata nel 1856 al proprio cognome quello degli Schizzi col titolo di Conte di Salizzole. Parecchi della famiglia D. furono ascritti al patrio collegio dei Notari, altri insigniti di cospicui ordini cavallereschi. Venanzio intendente militare delle truppe parmensi col grado di colonnello.
