Noble apellido catalán. Tuvo casa-palacio en la villa de Cardedeu, del partido judicial de Granollers (Barcelona). También tuvo casa en esta capital y en Manresa. En las provincias de Gerona y de Lérida hay dos lugares denominados Belloc, cuyo nombre debe estar relacionado con el del linaje. Se extendió por todas las provincias catalanas. En tiempos muy antiguos, pasó a Valencia. Lo llevó Guillermo, que desde el obispado de Urgell marchó con gente y caballos a servir al rey don Jaime de Aragón, en la conquista de Valencia. Fue muy estimado de dicho monarca, quien, por su valor y prudencia, le eligió consejero de Estado. También fue uno de los que compusieron los fueros o leyes de Valencia y quedó hacendado y domiciliado en dicha ciudad. Posteriormente, algunos de este apellido en Valencia se apellidaron Benlloch.
