Antichi in Verzuolo, dove viveva il capitano Tommaso, nobilitato con Patenti ducali 12 agosto 1603. Da lui hanno origine due linee: la linee di Carlo (dec. Verzuolo, di 86 anni, 10 giugno 1685), il cui tardo nipote Vincenzo, nato il 14 febbraio 1790, era riconosciuto nobile con sentenza camerale 25 maggio 1846; e la linea di Ugone, dal quale, attraverso otto generazioni, derivarono due linee minori, rappresentate rispettivamente dai cugini Felice ed Emilio, riconosciuti nobili rispettivamente con Decreto Ministeriale del 5 ottobre 1879 e 5 febbraio 1876. Tommaso, di Felice Renato, di Chiaffredo. Emilio dec., di Simone, di Giovanni. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre delle locande in cui questi
