Antico lignaggio catalano. Già nel 1300 c'era una casa solare con questo nome nella città di Sanauja, nel distretto giudiziario di Solsona (Lérida). Uno dei suoi rami ha messo radici nel 1500 nella città di Berga (Barcellona) e i suoi figli si sono diffusi in altre parti della Catalogna. C'erano anche case con questo cognome nel luogo di Mura e nella città di Vic (Barcellona), nel luogo di Mora e nella città di Falset (Tarragona). Il B. fu detenuto e rinomato in Catalogna da famosi cavalieri e in varie occasioni confermò la seguente nobiltà: Francisco de B. e Aisa, il 30 marzo 1530; José de B. y Olzina, il 15 luglio 1652 e José de B. y Descatllar, il 30 marzo 1706. Il già citato Francisco de B. y Aisa brillava per le sue virtù e indossava l'abitudine di San Francisco in gli ultimi anni della sua vita. José de B. e Olzina, pronipote del precedente, fu uno di quelli che guidarono le truppe difensive di Tarragona quando il Generale la Motte circondò questa piazza nel 1644. José de B. y Descatllar, nipote del precedente José, fu consigliere del corpo di artiglieria e dei governatori di Berga e Puigcerdá nel 1742, 1743 e 1748. Aveva anche il comando politico e militare del partito Berga, e Fernando VI lo nominò sindaco e luogotenente del corregidor di Agramunt e Urgell con un documento datato nel Buen Retiro il 28 settembre 1762. Lo studio dello scudo araldico di famiglia "ci parla" di coloro che hanno formato l'origine della famiglia B., perché quella era la loro funzione , quello di manifestare i suoi elementi differenziali agli altri. Gli smalti dell'arma B. proclamano i seguenti valori: L'oro è il simbolo del Sole, origine della vita, le sue caratteristiche spirituali corrispondono a fede, misericordia, temperanza, carità
