Ancienne et noble famille de Brescia à laquelle on attribuait des origines lointaines non prouvées par des sources fiables. Capriolo est un village sur la gauche de l'Oglio dans la région de Brescia d'où sont issues diverses familles de ce nom, entre autres en 1265 celle de Giovanni, dit Ugetto, Oreste et Lottarigo dit Tartarino, frères installés à Brescia. Au début du XVe siècle, un deuxième Tartarino, fils de Pricino (Pietro), fut chambellan du duc Filippo Maria Visconti pendant son éphémère seigneurie de Brescia, mais il jura ensuite foi dans la domination vénitienne ; en effet, il fut trouvé présent à Venise en 1429, représentant la ville lors de l'inféodation solennelle des terres de Chiari et Roccafranca à la Carmagnole. Il eut plusieurs enfants dont : Guglielmo qui, en 1438, fut fait prisonnier par Picinino au château d'Orzi ; Antonio, auteur d'une branche qui eut beaucoup de splendeur et qui
