Antica ed assai nobile famiglia italiana, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, anche Oltreoceano. Originaria del Veneto e, più precisamente della città di Vicenza, questa casata ha goduto nobiltà anche in Padova (Veneto) ed in Milano (Lombardia) con insediamenti anche nel territorio veneziano. Conosciuta come Cisotti o Cisotto, sul calare del XVI secolo, entrò essa a far parte del Consiglio nobile di Vicenza ma la sua nobiltà già a quell'epoca era più che centenaria poiché per essere ammessi al Collegio dei giuristi era necessario dimostrare il possesso di vera e reale nobiltà di cento anni. Prospero, di Francesco, era uno dei componenti di quel nobile Consiglio nel 1580.
