Familia romana muy antigua e ilustre, de cuyos orígenes no hay cierta información, que se ha extendido a lo largo de los siglos en varias regiones de Italia. Los nombres de los D'inzeo se encuentran recordados en textos, escrituras notariales y contratos para la venta de terrenos y casas desde el siglo XVIII, de los cuales parece que se encontraban en una condición cómoda. Tenemos un ejemplo de esto en un acto de la corte de Nápoles, de fecha 17 de junio de 1852, en el que un propietario y constructor Flocco D'inzeo fue demandado por una disputa de construcción. Un Giovanni, maestro de campo alistado en el ejército napolitano, estaba al frente de la batalla por la reconquista de Roma contra los franceses en 1799; un Domenico aparece en los libros del consejo del siglo XVIII.
