Ancient and noble Italian family, originally from Sicily, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread over the centuries. Known as Di Pietro or Pitrù, it had noble residences in the cities of Messina, Caltagirone and Vizzini, since at least the XVI century. A Pietro-Antonio, son of Filippo, and a Vincenzo Di Pietro both appear in the Golden Book of the city of Messina, best known as "Mastra del Mollica".
