Une branche de ce nom de famille de Séville est venue aux îles Canaries, auxquelles appartenait Don Pedro Cerón, fondateur du Mayorazgo de Arucas. Par contre, il est curieux que ce patronyme soit aussi né en Espagne par décomposition de Huarte ou Ugarte, devenant : De Ugarte, Huarte et D.. Les D. actuels de Gran Canaria viennent de Don José D., d'origine catalane , qui se rattachait à la famille Guerra, de Guiá. Selon l'auteur A. et A. Garcia Carraffa, en 1509 Pedro D., qui était un parent des chevaliers Garcés, de Teruel et Molina, passa des Encartaciones de Vizcaya au royaume d'Aragon.
