Famiglia oriunda Tortonese che vanta per capostipite Tedisio, al quale il marchese Corrado Malaspina donava in parte la signoria di Montacuto il 27 novembre 1210. I nessi genealogici di costui con Giorgio de Frescarolis vivente nel 1422, e stipite sicuro della presente discendenza, sono lacunosi e incerti. Tedisio (n. 22 gennaio 1608, dec. nel 1668) s'intitolava marchese di Monteforte, Montacuto, Morigliassi e signore di Guazzora (2 marzo 1667). Il figlio suo Pietro Antonio (n. 28 marzo 1634) sposò Lucrezia Baiardi, onde l'eredità del nome. Da lui nacque Tedisio (n. 19 luglio 1695, dec. il 29 dicembre 1745) che fu infeudato di Montacuto l'11 settembre 1773 col titolo marchionale. Gherardo, di Pietro, venne riconosciuto nei titoli nobiliari con Decreto Ministeriale del 9 ottobre 1923. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e
