Nell'Archivio di S. Prassede in un istromento del 1225 viene nominato Nicolaus Gottifredus. Giovanni Gottifredi nel 1362 fu uno delli sette Riformatori della Repubblica Romana, nel statuto de Mercanti. Nell'archivio Capitolino nei Rogiti di Antonio Giojosi sotto li 23 di luglio 1365 si fa menzione: Nobilis viri Mattutuij de regione Arenulae. Convien dire che da questo tempo abbiano mutato Casa. di Nardo di Cecco Gottifredo si parla in un istromento del 1401, cioè Laudum sive Arbitrium latum per Petrum Geptium de Tuscanella et Ambrosium de Vulterra Legum Doctores, nel quale fu testimonio Nardo Cecchi Gottifredi de regione Parionis. Capogallus Not. Arch. Cap. Ebbe la casa questo Nardo nella strada de Leutari, e muorì nel 1432, e fu sotterrato in S. Agnese di Navona. Sta l'arme sopra la porta di lione saltante ovvero rampante senza libro. Giacomo Gottifredo figlio di Nardo, fu valente medico ingrandì la Casa Paterna come apparisce
