Alte und sehr edle toskanische Familie von klarer und überlieferter Tugend, die sich über die Jahrhunderte in verschiedenen Regionen Italiens und Europas verbreitet hat. Ursprünglich aus Staggia in Valdelsa, wo es seit dem frühen 14. Jahrhundert stand, wurde die Familie im 15. Jahrhundert in die Stadt Florenz verpflanzt, obwohl sie danach viele Jahrhunderte lang wichtige wirtschaftliche Interessen in der Heimatstadt hatte. Trotz einer alten pharmazeutischen Tradition wurden die Grazzini dank der Ausübung des Notars sofort in den bürokratischen Apparat der Signoria integriert, und tatsächlich erhielten sie nicht nur wiederholt das Amt des Notars der Signoria, sondern erhielten auch die Staatsbürgerschaft . Unter den ersten Vertretern der Familie in Florenz erinnern wir uns: Ser Giovanni, Notar, der von 1422 bis 1465 schurkisch war; Ser Bindo d'Angelo, der nach Erlangung der florentinischen Staatsbürgerschaft im Jahr 1438 1448 als Botschafter nach England geschickt wurde; Ser Benedetto, Bruder des Vorgängers, der 1461 den Notar
