Die ersten bestimmten Nachrichten von Casato stammen aus dem Jahr 1146, aber eine ungewisse Spur von ihnen ist auch viel früher. Die Familie: "Imper, Imperiale, Imperiali, Imperio" stammt vermutlich aus einem einzigen Bestand mit vielen Niederlassungen in Teilen Italiens und Spaniens. In Genua privilegiert, ist bekannt für: Opicino (Obizzano) de Imperio; Francesco (1353); Stefano und Celesia (1353); Guglielmo; Raphael q. Oberti (1363) "Stadtrat"; Opicino (1341), genannt "Kaiser"; Ruffo (1365 und 1368), Gio (Giovanni) Imperio, Notar in Genua (1441). Aus politischen Gründen ging ein Zweig nach Spanien, wo er hoch erschien, aber mit Pedro Ramiro (?) Kehrte er nach Italien zurück. Guerrini (L. d'ON Bresciana) zitiert: "Gabaldi, dieses Haus stammt aus Scalvo, Bergamo Land, hat den Nachnamen ìde Homacis de Imperio". "Aus diesem Haus kommen Zerbino, Adobati et Gadaldi und der erste, der nach Bressa kommt, wenn er Zoan Piero anruft." In Apulien und im Neapolitanischen (und hier Reich genannt) gehörten
