Antiga e nobre família austríaca, originária de Salzburgo, de clara e ancestral virtude, que se difundiu mundialmente, ao longo dos séculos. A clara nobreza desta Casa é também confirmada pela sua presença em algumas das mais valiosas obras heráldicas, como: "O General Armorial" de JB Rietstap, uma obra monumental que contém os brasões dos brasões de mais de 130.000 famílias, e "Johann Siebmachers allgemeines großes und vollständiges Wappenbuch", um livro de vários volumes heráldico sobre a nobreza do Sacro Império Romano.
