Famille de la mouvance de Polignac. Jean, du lieu de Polignac, est témoin le 30 octobre 1392, à l'hommage rendu par Jean de Saint-Marcel dit Chandorat, à Randon-Armand X, vicomte de Polignac. Son petit-flls autre Jean, bailli de la cour de St-Vidal et lieutenant de Pons d'Alzon, bailli du chapitre de Notre Dame du Puy, vivait en 1451. Henri est cité dans l'accord passé le 25 mai 1463, entre Guillaume Armand XIII, vicomte de Polignac, et l'abbaye de la Chaise-Dieu, touchant la justice du lieu de Marminhac près Polignac. Il est qualifié noble en 1476 et avait épousé Vierne de la Roche-Lambert, fille de Gabriel et d'Alix de Fay. Cette maison s'éteignit par leur fille: aimée alliée avant 1470 à Jean de Lespínasse écuyer, seigneur du Passage. Autre branche: bourgeoisie de Saugues qui remonte sa filiation à Jacques seigneur de Pradel, marié le 9 août 1694 à Claire Plantin. On rencontre aussi: des avocats en parlement; plusieurs officiers, l'un d'eux tué à l'attaque du Mamelon-Vert (1855).
