A família Manna quer que o Bresciani seja derivado de Perugia, mas um Bonaventura que viveu por volta de 1287 escreveu a seus filhos que seu batente era originalmente do antigo romano Manlj. Entre os primeiros que se conhecem em Cremona está um Teodósio em 1037, e depois deste Ladislao por volta de 1050 famoso Legista, e muito estimado pelos Papas S. Lelone IX e Nicolò II, bem como pelo Imp. Henrique IV. Atribuído ao Decurionato cívico foram Gaspare em 1134, Guiscardino em 1165, Teodoro em 1503, Pietro em 1525, Galeazzo em 1631 e Alfonso em 1638. Ferdinando, um distinto teólogo em 1243 foi Vigário Geral do Arcebispo de Ravenna e Cônego de S. Pedro em Roma, como foi Girolamo em 1588. Cônego da Catedral de nosso Bispo Nicolò Sfondrati. Cataldo em 1540 era um talentoso físico, professor de grego, caldeu e hebraico e escritor de várias obras de medicina.
