Ancienne et noble famille de Zurich, aujourd'hui la plus grande ville de Suisse et capitale du canton du même nom, d'une vertu claire et ancestrale, qui s'est répandue dans le monde entier, au fil des siècles. Le premier personnage dont nous avons un souvenir héraldique est un Sébastien Nabholz, pasteur de Knonau, devenu citoyen de Zurich en 1574. Ludwig Nabholz von Ravensburg s'épanouit plus tard ; en 1613, il devint membre du Kämbel. C'est l'une des quatorze "Zünfte" (guildes) historiques de Zurich. Les origines de la guilde de Kämbel remontent à 1336, lorsqu'elle fut fondée avec les autres guildes médiévales zurichoises et l'association des chevaliers à l'occasion de la création de la guilde Brun. De nombreuses personnalités sont nées dans cette famille. On se souvient : Ulrich Nabholz, conseiller en 1692 puis gouverneur de Bade ; Salomon Nabholz, fils de celui-ci, devenu gouverneur de Knonau en 1748. Une autre lignée
