Pedro en su Nobiliario. . Este Vasco Martins estaba casado con D. Brites, del linaje de Gundar. Por datos obtenidos de los archivos de familias que partieron hacia el nuevo mundo, sabemos que muchas tuvieron mucha suerte y, por lo tanto, es probable que esta familia sea una de las primeras en comenzar a difundir este apodo también en Brasil.
