Família nobre, originária de Bolonha, que teve de emigrar da metrópole para ingressar no partido Guelph, apoiado pelos Geremei, e mudou-se para Ravenna em 1270. Giacomo foi vigário de Ostasio da Polenta, senhor de Ravenna, em 1433; Ostasio obtido do Imperat.
