Ancienne et noble famille allemande, de vertu claire et ancestrale, qui s'est répandue dans le monde entier au fil des siècles. La première preuve de ce nom de famille remonte au XIIIe siècle, lorsqu'un Dilndeych (1242), sacristain à Riedlingen, prospérait. D'un point de vue héraldique et noble, cette lignée est originaire du Haut-Palatinat et a été anoblie par l'empereur Joseph Ier en 1758, mais dès le 4 avril 1708, ses représentants pouvaient se vanter du titre de chevaliers du Saint Empire romain germanique. Le titre chevaleresque fut confirmé en Bavière, le 27 août 1821. Connue sous les noms de Rockel, Röckel ou Rœckel, la noblesse évidente de cette illustre famille est également confirmée par sa présence dans certains des livres héraldiques les plus emblématiques, tels que : "Siebmachers Wappenbuch ", de l'artiste héraldique allemand Johann Ambrosius Siebmacher, un livre héraldique en plusieurs volumes sur la noblesse du Saint Empire romain
