Ancienne et très noble famille de Campanie, appelée Satriano ou Sarriano, de vertu claire et ancestrale, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie. Comme le Crollalanza, dans son précieux ouvrage "DICTIONNAIRE HISTORIQUE-BLASONIQUE DES FAMILLES NOBLES ET NOTABLES ITALIENNES ÉTEINTES ET FLEURIES - DEUXIÈME VOLUME", cette famille était ornée du titre de comtes de Casalduni et en elle le Miroballo, branche des marquis de Frignan. Pour être juste, cette illustre famille napolitaine est inscrite au registre des seigneurs féodaux depuis plus de deux cents ans et ses membres ont également reçu le titre de duc de Ponte (1722). Par succession à la maison Caracciolo di Gioiosa, suite au mariage entre Salvatore S. († 1857), duc de Ponte et comte de Casalduni, et Maria Raffaela († 1837), fille et héritière de Francesco Paolo Caracciolo, les titres de duc de Rodi, duc de Sirignano (Nola) et comte de Nola.
