The name was brought to America by English immigrants. One of the first fore fathers to bring this name to America is that of a Jonathon Wade, who emigrated to America aboard the Lion on the 22nd of June, 1632; he settled at Ipswich, Massachusetts. This name is the two-hundredth and sixty-fifth most common surname in America.
