Nobility crown KehrAlte und sehr adlige deutsche Familie, ursprünglich aus Franken, im Land Thüringen, bekannt als von der Kere, Ker, Keer, Kehr oder Keher. Nach den uns überlieferten Überlieferungen gehörte sie zum Gefolge der Grafen von Henneberg, einer Herrscherfamilie über mehrere Territorien im Herzogtum Franken. Insbesondere wurde den Mitgliedern dieser Familie die Würde von Truchsessen der Grafschaft Henneberg verliehen. Ab dem 14. Jahrhundert besaß es auch die Burg Schwickershausen (Grabfeld), die es bis 1747 behielt. Die Mitglieder dieses Adelshauses gehörten auch zum Ritterkanton Rhön-Werra (1520, 1529), einem Kreis von Rittern des Heiligen Zum fränkischen Ritterkreis gehörendes Römisches Reich. Sie gehörten auch der Fürspängergesellschaft an, einer exklusiven fränkischen Rittergesellschaft, die am 13. August 1396 von 26 Adeligen gegründet wurde.
