Nobility crown PusterlaAntichissima famiglia, che si ritiene appartenesse sin dal sec. IX all'Ordine dei Valvassori. Alcuni storici vogliono attribuire ad essa Angilberto, arcivescovo di Milano nell'824. A ogni modo essa già nel sec. XII era assai potente in Milano ed aveva le sue case nelle adiacenze della chiesa di S. Alessandro. Pare assumesse il nome da una Pusterla o porta della città di Milano della quale aveva la ,guardia. Sul declinare del XII sec. figurava del partito della Motta ed in seguito ora avversa ai Torriani, come nel 1279 quando volle opporsi ai capitoli della pace con questa famiglia, ora ad essi favorevole. Ottone Visconti la comprese nella Matricola degli Ordinari e il nome dei Pusterla si ritrova ad ogni pagina delle cronache milanesi sino al principio del sec.
