Il 23 gennaio 1750, moriva in Modena Lodovico Antonio, lo storico sommo, la cui gloria durerà eterna, e i nipoti ex sonoro, Gian Francesco e Antonio Fortunato di Domenico Soli e di Domenica, ottenevano, i virtù di chirografo ducale 3 febbraio 1750, di aggiungere il cognome della siddetta famiglia. La famiglia Soli, come l'omonima, era nativa di Vignola. Il dottore don Gian Francesco (7101-1769) successe all'illustre Zio, del quale scrisse la Vita, nella Prepositura della chiesa di S. Maria Pomposa e nella carica di Archivista Segreto Ducale; il dottor Antonio Fortunato (1703-1754), notaro, trasferì la famiglia in Modena. Da lui e dalla moglie, Angela Termanini, distinta pittrice, nacque Pietro Francesco, che ebbe Fortunato Maria Geminiano dottore di leggi e Conservatore di Reggenza. Costui, unitamente al fratello Alessandro e ai figli e discendenti in perpetuo dalla Comunità di Modena, per Riformagione 9 aprile 1817, fu ascritto al Ceto Nobile dei Conservatori ...
