Ancient and noble family from Ravenna, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. Starting from the analysis of the coats of arms registered in the most authoritative heraldry books, we identify three main households: the one that originated in Ravenna and spread to Germany and Dalmatia; the other who moved from Liguria to Germany and even earlier to the Benevento area, where it had the marquis title; a third who flourished nobly in Sicily and Sardinia. The origins of the Rotondo family in Ravenna are very ancient, probably prior to the 14th century, but their fragmentation makes a complete narration impossible.
